August 24, 2015

Dear Pastor and friends,
August has been an anniversary month for us. I preached the last Sunday morning of a week-long celebration of my father’s 60th year as pastor of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Lansing, Michigan. Sandy and I observed our 45th wedding anniversary, three days in Petoskey, Michigan; where we honey-mooned four and half decades prior. We did stay in a little nicer hotel than back then! The last Sunday of this month I will be speaking at a special day for a pastor friend commemorating his 50th year of being saved!
The last few weeks have also been filled with many of my dear friends facing serious situations with illness and tragedies of varying sorts. As we all know, it is the trial of our faith that is precious (I Peter 1:7). It is not the outcome or the circumstances, but the trial itself that is precious! These are the times we realize the sufficiency of God’s grace! (II Corinthians 12:9).
September is to me a great month. H.H. Jackson’s poem of the same name concludes with these lines:
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather,
And autumn’s best of cheer!
I am preaching this September in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Texas and Alaska. I covet your prayers and thank you whole-heartedly for your faithful and generous support of our home and ministry.

Your companion in grace,

Tim Green
