Two Thousand Twelve

Dear Pastor and Friends,
Isaiah was contemporary to Hezekiah, and his 33rd chapter corresponds with the conflict Judah’s king had with Assyria’s sovereign in II Kings 18. The victory belonged to God in the final summation of things. In Isaiah 33:16, three great provisions are mentioned; the place of defense in the rocks, the bread and sure waters. All of these are promised to those who dwell on high. We feeble folk, like the conies, find our refuge in the rock (cf. Prov. 30:26). Those of us that are hungry satisfy ourselves on the fresh bread from the Lord’s bakery and slake our thirst at the artesian fountain of living water. Now my friends, that ought to cause us to fly to the mountain top of the Almighty!
A dear woman brought a friend to a meeting this past month and salvation came to the heart of the lady visitor. May God give us more church folk with the compassion and Christian spirit to bring their loved ones to hear preaching. “Faith cometh by hearing…” It still works to witness and bring people to church and ultimately the Saviour.
Thank you for your faithful help and earnest prayers. I am in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and back to Florida in the next month. My steps may be a little slower, but they still tread the path of revival and reaching the lost.
God be with you all is my fervent and continuous prayer!
Your companion in grace,

March Twenty
Two Thousand Twelve

Dear Pastor and Friends,

I was recently again confronted and convicted by the prayer of Robert Murray McCheyne; “God make me as holy as a saved sinner can be.” There ought to be and must be the desire of an holy life beating in the heart of the child of God. Sad to say, many of us are like the individuals Oswald Chambers described when he said, “Some of us have spiritual character so microscopic that it will take the archangels to find it!” There needs to be in our lives substantial evidence that we are God’s children. We need to possess a “new-birth” certificate that is not phony, fake or even a smidgen Hawaiian! The real thing will be our only passport to Heaven and be testified to in our daily walk.

Thank you so much for your continual prayers and generous giving to our home and work. I wish I could report great meetings and scores of salvation decisions, but truth trumps hype. I am, however, laboring faithfully in the field, constantly seeking the fruit that remains, and a flickering hope of revival. Every once in a while, there is a little fire burning and that spark keeps me on the path to God and committed to the work. The next three months are full of meetings – please pray that one or all of them will result in real revival!

May God bless each one of you in your church, home, work and social life is my prayer.

Your companion in grace,

February Twenty-Two
Two Thousand Twelve

Dear Pastor and Friends,

I would like to thank you once again for your faithful support of our home and ministry. Our dear Lord has been abundantly gracious in touching your hearts to help us. May God richly bless you.

In Numbers 13 and 14, one can find the story of the Israelites first foray into the Promised Land. Ten of the 12 spies expressed fear and doubt that produced disobedience in God’s people. Two of the 12 spies made a compelling plea for faith and expressed great confidence in God with these words, “…for they are bread for us:..” (Num. 14:9). My heart is grasped with the image of God’s bread maker! God uses giants to make bread for His people. What! Yes, God uses seemingly insurmountable situations that arise in our lives to make us better. God uses problems to provide us with sustenance. Remember, without battles there would be no victories. Without storms there would be no rainbows. Why not let God make bread out of the giant-like wheat in your life?

Please pray for meeting in the coming days in Arizona and Indiana. Revival, real revival, is what America really needs!

Sincerely for souls,

Evangelist

Dear Pastor and friends,

Solomon, the wise king of Israel, wrote, “Take away the dross from silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer” (Prov. 25:4). The removal of the extraneous matter and negative spiritual drains (read dross) in our lives will result in a much better, cleaner and more useful vessel for the divine Craftsman to use as He so designs. A lot of the time the dross that needs to be removed is just US! Oswald Chambers said, “Too much of me erases Him, but enough of Him erases me.” May the heavenly Eraser ‘clean the slate’ of our lives is my prayer.

The year 2012 began with back-to-back meetings in Florida and Mississippi. Both churches are supporting churches and I have annually preached in these works for many years. The meetings were greatly blessed of God. Last week I took my wife on a trip to celebrate her birthday. It was a special number that had a zero in it! You can guess the number if you wish. Hey, I’ll be 63 this year so…

Thank you so much for your faithful and God-directed benevolence extended to our home and the ministry the Lord has graciously given to me. Without your help financially and your prayers we would be far less than our best and not near as effective for Christ. You are an integral part of what God is doing in this revival ministry. I am eternally grateful and remain…

Your brother in Christ,

November Twenty-Two
Two Thousand Eleven

Dear Pastor and Friends,

Sometimes it seems that I’m communicating via telegraph or Morse code, and our hearers are on Skype, email, text message or whatever! I feel like I’m broadcasting on AM and their receivers are on FM or shortwave. The truth of the Gospel and story of salvation rings out clear and plain but there is a hindrance, a mis-connect. I don’t think the problem is with the message or even the messenger, but with the reception. My prayer is that God, through the Holy Spirit, would reveal Christ Jesus to needy hearts and lives.

I have never been busier, however, it seems so little is being accomplished against the Everest of need. May God stir and move the mountains of disinterest and mis-communication in both saint, sinner and minister!

As we hurry around amidst the upcoming holidays and festivities, I do not want to forget you, dear friends and loved ones, that have supported so faithfully through the year this ministry that God has given to this unworthy servant. You are my “on-earth” lifeline and my gratitude knows no boundaries to you and our loving heavenly Father. The rest of the year I will just be preaching on Sundays or one service appointments. Pray that our hearts and minds will be focused on Him and Him alone! May God be praised and His Son worshiped and adored is my prayer.

For His sake,
