November 2008 Prayer Letter

November Twenty Five

Two Thousand Eight

Dear Pastor and friends,

We are now “smack-dab” (Yankee word) on the doorstep of the Holiday season. Thanksgiving will be here before you get this, and you will be reading this with Tums or a Rolaids slowly dissolving in your mouth. I hope it works! Christmas is fast approaching and all the plays, recitals, parties, and more will be taking up your time. In the midst of all this coming and going, I trust we will all pause and reflect on the arrival of our Saviour many centuries ago and revel in the fact He is coming again! “…Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

For the first time I am including in my monthly mailing a few churches and folks that do not support our ministry. (Maybe they will take the hint and start!) I post it monthly on the website: timgreenministries.org, and I thought I would include other praying friends in my monthly musings. God bless you and welcome aboard! Speaking of my website, I hope many will peruse it this month and especially the bookstore and do some Christmas shopping! Remember: timgreenministries.org and click on the bookstore.

Thank you all who faithfully support our work and home with your support. Your prayers and giving mean so much to Sandy and yours truly. God bless you and I hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Yours in the harvest,

Tim Green

Dear Pastor and friends,

The wise preacher wrote, “…fear the LORD. and depart from evil” (Pro.3:7b). I guess if one really did fear the Lord it would be a “no-brainer” to depart from evil. Conversely, those that practice evil, promote evil, and partake, even occasionally in evil, do not fear God. Evil is on every hand; in the political arena, men’s private lives, and sad to say in many pulpits. A reverent fear of God should cause us to be running and avoid evil like never before. Revival fires will only smoulder and eventually die out in the embers of evil’s presence.

Our nation votes on November fourth, and I trust you will go to the polls with an eye on Biblical truth and the wholesome, spiritual values of a true child of God. This is not time for Christians to waver due to party affiliation, intimidation, or any carnal reason. God bless and help our Country is my prayer.

I am deeply indebted to all of you that continually and faithfully support our labors for Christ. One recent Sunday, a young woman with the marks of sin evident on her person, made a bee-line for the altar and got saved. Within minutes she was following the Lord in believer’s baptism. She was back that Sunday night with a friend! Saved, baptized, and soul-winning all in one day!!
What a conversion, better yet, what a Saviour!!! God be praised.

In the harvest field,

September 2008 Prayer Letter

September Twenty
Two Thousand Eight

Dear Preacher and friends,

Throughout our land and in my own locale in recent days we have had no power, no lights, no electricity. The Cincinnati area experienced a 90% power outage that lasted at least a week . . . so far . . . in many homes (ours came on after a day or so). All of this was courtesy of hurricane Ike!

The power in our lives and ministries is even more devastating and costly. We must get connected or reconnected, and stay connected to the Source of power in churches. God’s power in our lives is not a reflection of our radiance, but a total reliance on Him.

Thank you much for your faithful support and our labors together have and are producing fruit. This month God blessed mightily in a meeting in Pennsylvania. It came as close to real revival as I have experienced in the 21st century! I also saw some “strange” folks saved in that meeting–hairstyle wise. The first person I have ever had come forward with a Mohawk and get saved, and also a middle-aged couple with matching spiked hair and look-a-like tattoos wept their way to Christ in this meeting.

May God bless you for your gracious and faithful giving is my prayer.

August Twenty Nine
Two Thousand Eight

Dear Pastor and friends,

I am decidedly glad that August is past. This month has been a very difficult one for me personally, and I trust the days ahead will be sung to a far different tune! Have you ever had one of those days when at every turn you were stymied or outright defeated? That has been August for me. Thankfully my life is not based on circumstances, but grounded firmly in the risen Christ and His constancy- - Glory to Him.

One fleeting highlight in August was the ordination of one of my nephews. I believe he is the fourteenth member of our family to be ordained to the Gospel ministry on the 12th of August, beginning with my father on August 12, 1948. He is serving God in the thumb area of Michigan.

In September I will be preaching, the Lord willing, in Pennsylvania, Florida and New Jersey. Please pray the dear Lord will grace these meetings with His presence and be glorified. Revival is the crying need of the hour in our lives and churches.

Thank you so much for your faithful support of our home and ministry. Without your God-directed help I have no idea how I could do what I know God has called me to do. May God bless you many times over and add bountifully to our joint accounts in the Bank of Heaven is my prayer.

Fully persuaded and firmly engaged,

Tim Green

July 2008 Prayer Letter

July Twenty Five
Two Thousand Eight

Dear Pastor and friends,

What a day we live in! Problems at the gas pumps, the mortgage company and the natural storms of life have taken their toll. We have a guy running for president in foreign countries ( maybe he is running for potentate in a one-world government-hmmm). Church leaders and members are floundering on the rocks of spiritual ruin and backsliding has become the summer sports event for many of God’s people.

Sometimes the days look bleak, however, God is still in control and as in Esther’s day deliverance is inevitable. In Esther chapter 6 is an outline that will preach: The King had a night of unrest vs. 2. Haman had a morning of misunderstanding vs. 6. He then experienced a day of humiliation vss. 10-11. There was then a moment of realization vs. 13. Mordecai’s faithful humility and kind regard for his young cousin brought about the awful moment of truth for Haman as he hung from the gallows and God delivered His people again. Look up my friends our redemption draweth nigh!!

God has truly blessed in the meetings this past month. Souls have been saved and a couple of nights we came right to the brink of real revival in the lives of people. Ofttimes it is like we have ”…come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth” (Isa. 37:3b). Please pray with me that the dear Lord would send a true awakening in these cold, indifferent days in which we live and serve.

Thank you so much for you faithfulness in giving to our home and work. It is of great comfort to know that you are there and our hearts are knit in the great cause of revival and a spiritual renewal in our churches and land. God bless you much.

Please look at our website and order a book or ten from our bookstore! Www.timgreenministries.org.

June Twenty Seven

Dear Pastor and friends,

In Genesis 10 Ham’s genealogy is given and his grandson, Nimrod, is mentioned. Nimrod is the builder of Babel and of course Babel is the city God intervened in and confounded the language of the people. Babel was built by Nimrod and its tower was an edifice constructed to declare man’s glory and eventually evoke worship. It was a monolithic monument to mankind. This mighty hunter was a humanist. Friends, the spirit of Nimrod still lives in our land and in many hearts–maybe even yours. The days of building ministries as monuments must cease. Our sole goal should be to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ! Only through the power and presence of the Holy Ghost can this be accomplished in our lives. John the Baptist said it best, “He must increase, but I must decrease”(John 3:30).

I am grateful to God to be a part of your missionary family, and present Jesus Christ and Him crucified as the hope of salvation. Your support of this work is truly a blessing and I pray God will bless our labors together.

God has opened doors and blessed in Maryland, Michigan and Georgia in June. July will be used up in Florida(I must be nuts!), Idaho and Ohio. I covet your prayers in regard to these meetings.

God bless you all!!

May Twenty Third
Two Thousand Eight

Dear Pastor and friends,

In recent days the question of true conversion has crawled across my mind and the conviction of my soul has dawned into the obvious truth that many that say they are saved…aren’t! A real experience with Christ will have a profound effect upon the recipient of “ …the divine nature.” I have drawn this conclusion from the conduct of many who claim Christ as their Saviour. Their character, conversation and lack of Bible convictions are not indicative of the behavior of a true child of God. My advice to the professors and not possessors is Paul’s, “ Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;…”

Thank you so much for your faithful support to our home and ministry. Our work has grown into a many faceted instrument as time swiftly goes by. One God- blessed part is the book ministry. The newest edition is a re-printing of Mel Trotter’s autobiography, entitled the Mel trotter story. It is a wonderful compilation of conversion stories and testimonies of the redeemed. Most of our books can be accessed and ordered online at our website: www.timgreenministries.org. Check it out!

I need your prayers for our work, and Sandy and I are grateful to God for each of you. My hope is that God will increase your number.

Redemptively His & warmly yours,

April Twenty Five

Dear Pastor and friends,

“ A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps” (Prov. 16:9)
One Puritan writer said, “ When a Christian carves for himself, he’ll often cut his own fingers.” It is wise to let God be God and follow His directives and not go off in our own direction! The Lord knows the best way for us to travel and He not only knows what’s best for our next step, but also the long path ahead. He knows and holds tomorrow because He is already there!

My desire hope and prayer is that the Lord will guide me in the meetings I take and the places I preach at, that He would get the glory from what I preach and where I preach it. God has seemingly blessed and prospered our way this month with several souls saved and a couple of services that bordered on real revival. It doesn’t take a lot of those to keep an old dog in the hunt!

Thank you so much for your kind thoughtfulness in supporting our home and ministry. Sandy has had a potential serious health issue addressed in recent days and thankfully it was dealt with quickly. We covet your prayers and thank God for your friendship in the Gospel.

Gratefully yours on the journey,

Tim Green

March 21, 2008

Dear Pastor and Friends,

I am writing these words while in New Zealand and e-mailing them to my secretary to comprise this prayer letter. What a small, instantaneous, ultra-communicative world we live in! Now if somehow we could get God’s people to respond as quickly to the call of the Bible to repent, win souls, live holy and be what God would have us be! We seem to collectively drag our feet and live in the horse and buggy days when it comes to reacting hastily to the Lord.

The Psalmist said, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD:…”and I believe that, but it often gives me pause to wonder what I am and what I am doing. Often the meetings are blessed with God’s obvious blessing and other times totally bereft of His presence. In some, souls are saved and rejoicing accompanies repentance, while frequently nothing happens of any apparent spiritual nature. Dear friends, please pray for this preacher and his ministry , that God would send a rain of righteousness and thoroughly soak us with His Spirit and power.

Thank you so much for your help and gracious giving, both now and in the past. You are the under girding of God’s monetary blessings in our behalf.

Yours for revival,

Tim Green

February Twenty Two

Dear Pastor and friends,

Thank you so much for your support of our work in the vineyard of the Lord. I recognize I am nothing more than a low-level laborer in the great enterprise of faith, but I am grateful to be in His employ.

I grow increasingly concerned at the state of our churches. It is quite evident that we not only need course correction, but we are in need of course direction from God. We have labored in the flesh, with modern-day methods and foolishly tripped down the road to spiritual ruin, convincing ourselves that this is God’s work in us. Beloved, we need revival! A revival of righteousness, holiness, commitment and renewed concern for the lost. The time for comedic rhetoric and hyperbolic exegesis is past– we need truth clothed in the power of God. We need God’s Word preached and His work done His way again. God, please send revival!

The month of March is consumed with travel and I covet your prayers for effectual ministry in Louisiana, Arizona, New Zealand and Texas.

May God bless you abundantly is my prayer.

Yours for revival in our land,

Tim Green
